Cellulite Reduction

Cellulite Reduction at Valley Aesthetics Institute

Cellulite can be embarrassing and cause self-consciousness. While it can affect men, cellulite primarily impacts women. More than 90% of women, no matter their size, shape, or weight, have cellulite on their legs or buttocks. As we age, fat cells enlarge, skin becomes thinner, and fibrous bands tighten, causing the telltale dimples of cellulite. Typical treatments like weight loss, exercise, massage, and creams are often ineffective. At Valley Aesthetics Institute, we offer the most innovative treatments to effectively smooth cellulite.

At Valley Aesthetics Institute, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Kyle Sanniec and his team are experts in performing skin-smoothing cellulite reduction treatments. With heartfelt compassion and extensive medical expertise, Dr. Sanniec and his team combine meticulous skills with their patients’ goals to deliver beautiful, natural-looking results to patients, renewing their confidence and improving the appearance of their skin.

What Is Cellulite?

A common anti-aging procedure for men and women, facelift surgery (rhytidectomy)is designed to address the signs of aging, like moderate to severe sagging and loss of elasticity, which creates creases, folds, and wrinkles on the face. Facelifts remove excess skin and redundant fat without creating visible scarring by placing incisions in the temples, hairline, and around the ears.

Typically, facelifts are ideal for patients in their late 40s up to 70 years of age to address aesthetic concerns stemming from genetics, aging, and environmental exposure. The signs of aging present differently for each individual, and facelifts can be customized to achieve dramatic anti-aging benefits and take 10 to 15 years off your appearance.

Cellulite Reduction Treatment Options

Non-surgical treatments can be included with your facelift to help you achieve optimal results. These treatments may include skin rejuvenation treatments such as:

Cavitation

Cavitation uses ultrasound technology to break down fat cells beneath the skin. This non-surgical, non-invasive procedure targets cellulite and fat deposits in various body areas like the abdomen, hips, thighs, knees, arms, calves, and back. Results are noticeable from the first session. A major benefit is that it requires no downtime, anesthesia, needles, or incisions.

Ultrasonic treatment uses low-frequency sound waves to heat and break down fat cells without harming surrounding tissues or organs. The liquefied fat is then expelled through the body’s normal metabolic process. Most clients begin to see visible results in 3 sessions; however, the best results typically require 6 to 10 treatments, depending on age, weight, and treatment area.

Cavitation results are permanent but require a healthy diet and routine exercise to maintain them. Fat deposits may return with weight gain.

Radiofrequency

Radiofrequency (RF) therapy, or radiofrequency skin tightening, is a nonsurgical method used to tighten the skin. The procedure utilizes energy waves to heat the deep layer of the skin called the dermis. This heating process stimulates collagen production. Collagen is a protein that forms the skin’s underlying structures and contributes to its firmness. As aging occurs, collagen production decreases, leading to sagging skin and wrinkles.

This procedure uses radiofrequency waves to stimulate collagen growth in the skin, tightening skin and reducing the appearance of cellulite. A device passes waves through the top layers, protected by a cooling gel, to heat and tighten lower layers for immediate results. Over months, collagen production leads to healthier, radiant-looking skin.

Non-invasive radiofrequency therapy is painless, requires no downtime, and can be performed anywhere on the body. Following treatment, the skin may feel tight and slightly red, but these effects subside within 24 to 48 hours.

Typically, clients experience results after their first treatment. Radiofrequency treatments produce visible improvements within 3 months and results last for up to 2 years. A consultation and skin evaluation are necessary to decide if additional procedures are needed to achieve your desired results.

Laser Lipo

Laser lipolysis, commonly referred to as laser lipo, is a minimally invasive body contouring procedure that employs laser energy to reduce cellulite and improve the skin’s overall appearance. This treatment specifically targets the fatty tissue beneath the skin by utilizing laser energy to break down fat cells and fibrous bands responsible for cellulite. The body’s lymphatic system removes the destroyed fat cells, resulting in smoother and firmer skin.

Non-surgical and minimally invasive, laser lipo reduces the appearance of cellulite with minimal downtime on multiple areas of the body. Depending on the severity of your cellulite, you may need 1 to 2 laser lipo treatments per area to achieve optimal results, with visible results in 3 months after your final treatment. Laser lipo may not be effective for severe cellulite.

Laser lipo results are long-lasting but require a healthy diet and routine exercise to maintain them. Fat deposits may return with weight gain.

Wood Therapy

Wood therapy is a massage technique that uses wooden, handheld tools, such as rolling pins and vacuum-suction cups. Our experts suggest wood therapy may have benefits like reducing cellulite, promoting lymphatic circulation and drainage, and offering relaxation benefits like stress alleviation and pain relief. While wood therapy has not specifically been proven to treat cellulite, massage offers many benefits in temporarily reducing the appearance of cellulite.

Our experts will utilize various wooden instruments that may look like highly textured or grooved rolling pins, while others have a contoured shape or resemble bells. To achieve therapeutic benefits, it may be necessary to undergo wood therapy treatments several times weekly for 3 to 4 months. Often, our experts recommend at least 10 to 12 sessions before achieving visible results.

Although wood therapy is safe, mild side effects like bruising, redness, or soreness may occur following treatment. These effects are typically temporary and should subside within a few days.
