What is recovery like after Botox or Dysport? Can I go back to work or exercise the same day?

The recovery from treatment with Neuromodulators is pretty light. Depending on where you were injected, you will have some small pinpoint areas where the injection was and can have some swelling around the area until the neuromodulator diffuses into the surrounding tissue.

Can anyone get Botox treatments?

Most people can get Botox treatments, however, pregnant patients, people allergic to the ingredients in Botox, or patients with neuromuscular disorders should avoid Botox treatments.

What can I do to prevent or treat bruising after Botox?

I recommend patients try and use cold compresses after to help with swelling/bruising. Additionally, injector technique can help minimize bruising, such as using smaller needles and avoiding blood vessels. Unfortunately, some patients are more prone to bruising than others.

What is the difference between Botox® and Dysport®?

Both of these are neuromodulators and work to reduce wrinkles in a similar manner. Dysport is the trade name for abobotulinumtoxin A and Botox is the trade name for onabotulinumtoxin A. Dysport is FDA approved for glabellar lines and Botox is FDA approved for glabellar lines, lines around the lateral eyelid (crow’s feet) and forehead lines.

What is the difference between Botox® and® Xeomin®?

Both of these are Neuromodulators and work to reduce wrinkles by decreasing the action of the muscle of the face that can lead to wrinkles. Botox is the trade name for onabotulinumtoxin A. Xeomin is the trade name for incobotulinumtoxinA. Xeomin has no additives whereas Botox is a mix of complex proteins. If a patient is worried about reacting to Botox, Xeomin may be an option for treatment given the lack of additives that could cause a reaction.

What areas are most suitable for Botox?

The most common areas for Botox treatment are the forehead wrinkles, the frown lines (glabellar region) and the crow’s feet (lateral part of the eyelid).

How often will I need to get Botox?

This can depend on how your body responds to the treatment. In general every 3-6 months you may need an additional treatment.

Will my face be able to move after Botox?

While Botox does relax the muscle of the face, Dr. Sanniec wants to make sure you are still able to move your face. His goal is improvement in your wrinkles. This is why a key knowledge of the anatomy and depths of the facial muscles are key to ensuring a good result.

I went in for a Carbon laser facial at the Mesa Location. The staff was amazing from beginning to end, from the front desk girls to the esthetician. She explained the process and was very informative. I will be back in 4 weeks for my second Carbon Laser Facial and some extra services as well.
